1. About MatterMAP
MatterMAP is operated by Agileful UG (haftungsbeschränkt) ("we", "us", "MatterMAP"). MatterMAP is an online platform that helps users structure legal situations and, when relevant, introduces them to independent lawyers. MatterMAP is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
2. Who these Terms apply to
These Terms apply to two groups of users:
- Clients — individuals or businesses who use MatterMAP to describe a legal situation, run an assessment, and optionally request an introduction to a lawyer.
- Lawyers — qualified legal professionals who apply to join the MatterMAP network in order to receive case introductions matched to their specialty.
3. Terms for Clients
3.1 No legal advice
The information generated by MatterMAP (case classification, possible legal angles, similar patterns, suggested next steps) is informational only and does not constitute legal advice. You should not act or refrain from acting on the basis of MatterMAP output without obtaining advice from a licensed lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction.
3.2 Accuracy of information you provide
You agree to provide accurate, complete and truthful information about your situation. The quality of MatterMAP's analysis depends on the quality of the information you provide.
3.3 Lawyer introductions
If you consent, MatterMAP may introduce your case to a lawyer in our network. MatterMAP does not represent you, does not negotiate fees, and does not warrant the outcome of any engagement. Any contract for legal services is between you and the lawyer directly.
3.4 Fees
Using MatterMAP's assessment and introduction service is currently free of charge for clients. Lawyers you engage will charge their own fees under their own terms.
4. Terms for Lawyers
4.1 Free membership
Joining the MatterMAP network is free. There are no membership fees and no subscription charges.
4.2 Eligibility
You confirm that you are duly admitted to practise law in your stated jurisdiction, that your bar membership is in good standing, and that the information you submit (including specialty, bar ID, firm and contact details) is accurate.
4.3 Case introductions
MatterMAP may, at its discretion, send you introductions to cases that match your single declared specialty and jurisdiction. You are free to accept or decline any introduction. You are responsible for your own conflict checks and professional obligations before contacting any client.
4.4 Independence
Once you accept an introduction, the engagement is solely between you and the client. MatterMAP is not a party to that engagement and does not supervise, direct, or share in any fees from it.
4.5 Professional conduct
You agree to comply with all applicable rules of professional conduct of your bar, including rules on advertising, solicitation, conflicts of interest and confidentiality.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the platform, including by submitting unlawful, misleading, infringing or harmful content, attempting to gain unauthorised access, scraping data, or using MatterMAP to harass any other user.
6. Disclaimer and liability
MatterMAP is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties (express or implied) and are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, lost profits, or legal outcomes arising from your use of MatterMAP.
7. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Place of jurisdiction is, where permitted by law, the registered seat of Agileful UG (haftungsbeschränkt).
